My husband and I came here with another couple. We had reservations for 7pm and were seated about 7:15. There isn't a good place to wait until being seated. It's be nice if they had bar stools in the front room for that purpose. Where we ended up being seated was VERY cold. Every time someone came in or out of the restaurant the cold air rushed in. This is a very busy restaurant and reservations are necessary. The 4 of us ordered one of the nights specials. The large prime rib was only $3 more than the small one. So, we all went with that. It was large enough two of us took home half of our order. It came with a salad, choice of potato and Texas toast. The prime rib was very good! The cottage potatoes were fair. The blue cheese dressing was really good. They put Fritos on the salad which was good. The restaurant doesn't appear to have been updated in a decade. It really does need it. We've eaten here before and will eat here again. We just don't come often even though it's one of only 2 good steakhouses in the area.
This is our gathering place when we come to Iowa for family reunions. They always accommodate our large group with efficiency and kindness!! The steaks are out of this world!!! The staff is amazing and I have never had a better filet anywhere!!!!
All plates are fresh food, cooked with love, great service, homade ingredients, excellent service!
Service is always great! The wait staff are kind, polite and attentive. The ambiance is a relaxed, country roads type of vibe. Food is always excellent and nothing beats the dirt cake!!!
Awesome prime rib! But not inexpensive , the prices have gone up considerably. The service is great, waitresses are all very friendly and helpful.
